We ask all EFRA members to be aware that a series of emails have been sent to Federation members and possibly others from an email not controlled by EFRA, requesting payment or assistance in some form.
The scammers are sending emails that appear to be from EFRA, but they are actually fake.
If you receive an email that looks like it is from EFRA, please do not click on any links in the email or reply to it in any way. Instead, forward the email to us so that we can investigate.
We appreciate your help in keeping our community safe.
Here are some tips to help you avoid falling victim to spam and phishing attempts:
* Be suspicious of any email that asks for personal information, such as your password or credit card number.
* Never click on links in emails or messages from people you don’t know.
* If you’re unsure if an email is legitimate, hover your mouse over the link to see the actual URL. If the URL doesn’t look like it belongs to the company that the email claims to be from, don’t click on it.
* Keep your software up to date. Software updates often include security patches that can help protect your computer from malware.
* Use a firewall and antivirus software. A firewall can help block unauthorised access to your computer, and antivirus software can help detect and remove malware.
By following these tips, you can help protect yourself from spam and phishing attempts.
