Introducing Mr Frank Mostrey, Interim President of EFRA |
Introducing Mr Frank Mostrey, Interim President of EFRA At the recent EFRA Board meeting, amongst all running affairs, and preparations for the new season, the passing of Dallas was an important point on our agenda. It was the Board decision to appoint an interim president to complete this year, so the continuity would be ensured. Mr Frank Mostrey, as Senior Officer, has agreed to take this task, and together with the Executive Officers, he will handle all day to day affairs. A new president will be then be elected at the 2018 EFRA AGM. For those who are not familiar with the interim President, here is a short resume of his involvement in RC Racing. In 1980 Frank co-founded an became president of a 1/12 Electro club. Three years later, they had to clear the terrain, but he found a new opportunity with the startup of an 1/10th Electro Off Road club, and an electro and sail boat club. He started the organisation of the Belgian GP 1/10 El Off Road in 1989, the rostrum was built from Euro pallets. The race is still a yearly event on our EFRA calendar. In 1985, becoming board member of the Belgian Federation FBA was a logical step, and in 2000, FBA found their new president in Frank, for the next sixteen years. In EFRA, he went for the first time to an EFRA AGM, together with Dallas somewhere around 1988. It did not take long before he filled in the 1/10 Electric Off Road Chairman seat, when Mike Dresher left. Today, Frank is still active as vice chairman of the 1/10 Off Road section. When IFMAR had a problem in 2008, he stepped in temporarily in as acting Chairman Electro. A few years later he resumed that position and still is today. He also can be found on the tracks as referee. Frank can be reached at the following address: president@efra.ws |
