Neumann "Wins" Practice |
Defending champion quickest on official rankings |
Defending 4WD Champion Jorn Neumann was quickest in today's controlled practice session. The German Durango driver set a time of 1:00.106 across his best 2 consecutive laps. British TLR driver Darren Bloomfield placed second, with a time just under 2 tenths slower across his best 2 laps. Fellow Brit Lee Martin was third with his Tamiya (1:00.807), with Jorn's Austrian team-mate, Hupo Honigl fourth with a 1:00.956. |
But you cannot read too much into this, as over the complete 5 minute run the order may look very different. Many of the drivers are feeling confident, with Jorn saying his car felt quick and Bloomfield simply commenting that driving his car was just "easy". Attention now turns to tomorrow, and with the drivers uncertain how the track will change overnight, Neumann said he will leave the car as it is and maybe make adjustments following the early morning practice. Bloomfield is undecided on his choice of tyre insert, like many unable to choose between the standard foam or moulded "Red" AKA insert in the Pro-Line control tyres. |
