Qualifying - Round 1 |
Complete re-shuffle at the top of the timesheets! |
You may as well throw the practise results out of the window, as the first round of qualifying produced some completely unexpected results! It was Swedish driver Alex Hagberg who took the fastest time (car pictured) in Round 1. He beat German teenager Christopher Krapp to the top by by just one tenth of a second. Hagberg admitted he was a little surprised with the result, but added that the car was working very well and whilst many of the top drivers made mistakes, his car was very easy to drive for the complete 5 minute run. |
Third place was another German driver, Marc Fischer. Driving the new Serpent for only the second time this weekend, he is pleased with how well the new car is working and how quickly he was able to get up to speed with it. Fourth overall was Jilles Groskamp, 2 tenths behind Fischer. Fifth place went to defending champion Ronald Volker, with Viktor Wilck in sixth with a Thunder Power-powered Tamiya. |
Completing the top 10 were former World Champion Andy Moore (7th), fastest in practise Yannic Prumper (8th), Steen Graversen (9th) and Dominik Fleischmann completing the top 10. But with a number of the driver both inside the top 10 and outside it making mistakes during the run, the first round was far from conclusive. With only 2 rounds of qualifying counting, many used it as an additional chance to test further setup changes, but for Alex Hagberg it means Pole Position is now firmly within reach. |
