Qualifying 3 Catch Up |
As Tuesday concludes, here's how they stand after Round 3 |
In today's third and final round of qualifying, it was German driver Jorn Neumann who set the quickest time after his earlier third place rounds. However, with two rounds still to run tomorrow morning, the results are far from set yet! Counting the best 2 scores from the 3 rounds, it is British driver Lee Martin (car pictured) who now leads overall, thanks to a second place in the third round. |
Behind Lee, Neil Cragg now drops to second overall. A mistake on the opening lap of the third round by Neil saw him loose a few seconds, after which he seemed able to keep pace on track with Lee. Jorn's TQ run confirms him in the third spot at the end of Tuesday, with another British driver, Paul Bradby fourth overall. |
Peter Pinisch rebounded from a poor Round 2 result to move up to fifth overall. Yet another British driver, Tom Yardy, holds the sixth place spot, ahead of Austrian Rene Trauner. Two French drivers, Antoine Rossetti and Armand Lantheaume currently sit in the A final in eighth and ninth respectively, with Touring Car European Champion Marc Rheinard tenth overall. |
Notable drivers currently sitting outside the top 10 are multiple UK champion Ellis Stafford (11th overall), former European Champion Hupo Honigl (12th overall) and last year's 4WD A-Finalist Martin Kreil (14th overall). But with 2 more rounds still to run tomorrow morning, and just 2 rounds to count for each driver, today can effectively still be written off, giving hope for those drivers currently outside the A final or those looking to improve their grid positions. |
Stay tuned to EFRA.ws throughout the week. We have an interview with defending champion Lee Martin coming up, along with a video roundup of Tuesday's action. Tomorrow we will of course include a full qualifying report and action from all three legs of the A Final. |
